Currently, I am serving as the Deputy Vice Chancellor Central Administration assisting the Vice Chancellor in the day-to-day running of the University. I joined the University system in 1995 as a graduate assistant where I rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Plant Pathology in 2018. I successfully supervised to completion four PhD theses and nine MSc dissertations.
I served the University in various capacities including, but not limited to, Dean of Faculty, Director Academic Planning, Head of Department and so on. Besides teaching and research, I am also involved in community service through our community outreach centers, providing free extension services to farmers.
I published over 35 peer reviewed journal articles and served as a reviewer to three journals.
My area of research is on the development of environmentally friendly disease management strategies for sustainable food production.
