I am the Finkel Professor of Global Health in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University in Melbourne Australia. I am an academic clinical psychologist with particular interest in the social determinants of mental health problems experienced by women who are pregnant or have recently given birth and the early development of their children in low- and middle- and high-income settings. I have collaborated in research in Vietnam for the past twenty years including leading the successful trial of a multicomponent program to address the needs of women and children which we are now taking to scale in remote highland provinces.
