A cultural anthropologist by academic training, Emily has dedicated her professional life to human rights advocacy, indigenous rights to the land and natural resources, fighting climate change, and sustainable development. After 12 years designing and implementing field projects with NGOs in Latin America dedicated to environmental restoration, human rights, and sustainable development, she has worked for 17 years as an independent consultant for NGOs, grantmaking foundations, and universities providing English<>Spanish translation services, developing written content, and designing and imparting tailored institutional capacity-building for grassroots groups in Latin America and the Caribbean. She loves to read, travel, hike, and run.
