Alan Barbieri is the Head of Programmes & Partnerships at The Human Safety Net, Generali’s Foundation. He oversees a portfolio of 80+ programmes implemented in 26 countries and leads on the development of strategic partnerships.

More than fifteen years of experience designing and driving multiple social impact projects of €200m+, Alan has been focusing his efforts on early childhood development, entrepreneurship and startup support across NGOs and private sector.

With a long-lasting passion for social impact, Alan worked for non-profits and purpose-driven consulting firms in all geographies, setting up a Foundation in South Africa. In 2019, he finally landed at The Human Safety Net, on what he defines ‘the most challenging and exciting position of my career’, which also brought him back to his native country, Italy.

Father of three boys, Alan loves spending time in nature with his family and exploring the beauties of northern Italian landscapes.
