I am a creative and dynamic design leader that straddles ideas and action. I am committed to leadership with values and collective impact; my leadership style centers around empathetic listening and diverse inputs. I work within systems both through optimization and disruption with an eye on scale wherever possible. I built an impressive career harnessing design and action. In my most recent role as the leader of the Ahlan Simsim Project for the IRC in MENA - the first recipient of the MacArthur 100 & Change Award - a ground breaking project that resulted in bringing impact to millions of children and families across the MENA region. With audacious goals and tenacious focus we more than doubled our expected results amidst a myriad of challenges from geopolitics, to crisis, to natural disasters to COVID. Throughout these challenges I led the team with a strong vision and a commitment to never accepting the status quo or allowing ourselves to get stuck inside systems that might not be fit for purpose.
