Brazilian economist and social scientist, Laura is the Public Leadership Principal at Latin American philanthropic platform VélezReyes+, where she is responsible for strategy, grant-making, and venture building towards strengthening democracy in the region, and helping improve governments from inside out. She is also the CEO of VélezReyes+ and Renova BR's joint-initiative Democracia+, the Chairwoman of political leadership incubator Más Costa Rica, and a board member of Legisla Brasil. She co-founded the social enterprise DignifAI, that promoted digital and economic inclusion of forcibly displaced people, and has worked on international development with the IFC, the UN, and the WEF in Latin America, Africa, and Europe. Laura has an MBA and a master’s in public policy from Harvard University.
